Donald Trump’s inauguration gave the country a boost of optimism, Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, R-Tenn., told Newsmax on Tuesday.

“It was something … America needed,” Fleischmann said on “Newsline.” “I know I needed it. We needed a rebirth of optimism in this country. That’s what Donald Trump is going to provide. America is back. We’ve got a good, strong executive in that role. I look forward to helping the Trump agenda.”

Under Trump, America is again respecting the rule of law, especially with securing the border, Fleischmann said.
