Sen. Blackburn to Newsmax: ‘Thrilled’ Trump Moving Fast on Enacting Policies

Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., told Newsmax on Tuesday that she was “thrilled” that one of the many executive orders President Donald Trump signed soon after the inauguration involved a federal government hiring freeze and ordering government workers to return to the office that goes hand in hand with one of her legislative proposals.

Blackburn said on “Wake Up America” that her legislation has “things you have to do to set the parameters around reducing what the federal government spends and being able to reduce the size of the federal work force … so that you’re not adding to those components. That is a first step.”

Blackburn also mentioned her “bill that requires employees to show up to work and moves us from a tenure promotion status to a merit-based promotion status.”
