The Joe Show

Joe Christoper grew up a metalhead and an aspiring guitar player. When he realized he sucked at guitar, he turned his love for music into a career in radio. Joe’s now a radio geek, turned DJ who programs three radio stations and has his own show he arrogantly dubbed “the Joe Show”. Joe started in college radio and took his first professional job in 1997 when a program director felt sorry for him. He successfully bounced around several different format changes and was eventually promoted because he works on the cheap. He used his failures from his previous jobs to learn how not to do it.

Joe has been programming radio stations successfully since 2005, but still sucks at guitar. Joe is an encyclopedia of useless knowledge with selective photographic memory. He can’t remember historical dates, family birthdays or even the last 10 presidents, but he can tell you the year Kajagoogoo released “Too Shy”. His show is full of fun useless facts, odd opinions and well-thought out takes on pop-culture, sports, music and trivia. Joe loves hockey, will debate you on what’s more important Star Wars or Star Trek, can explain in great detail how the Marvel Multiverse works and the effects of the sacred timeline. He’s not just a radio geek…he’s just a geek.

His passion comes from his love for music and being creative. Besides playing hockey, his biggest hobby is cooking for his family- mostly because it gives him an excuse to drink wine and experiment with new recipes. Catch the Joe Show 11am-3pm Sunday’s on Erie’s Classic Rock Z102.3
